"I became a surgeon because I am committed to helping people improve their quality of life. I have spent my life doing fundraising work for volunteer organizations to help improve the health of those with disease. As a surgeon, I can take that one step further."

SERVICES PROVIDED
Dr. Murphy will perform both open and closed (laparoscopic) Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery and adjustable lap-band surgery, as well as Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve.

BACKGROUND
Dr. Murphy has chosen to bring her talents and expertise to TEAM:BARIATRICS after serving as Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Northeastern Ohio University's College of Medicine in Akron, Ohio.

MEDICAL SCHOOL
Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana.

TRAINING
General surgery internship and residency at Summa Health System's Akron City Hospital, Akron, Ohio.

MEMBERSHIPS
American College of Surgeons, the Mennonite Medical Association, the Association of Women Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

OUTSIDE INTERESTS
Symphonic and chamber choir singing, vocal jazz ensemble, and church & family activities.
